Seven Chakras Chakra, a Sanskrit word translating into wheels of consciousness, provides a symbolic map of areas within our physical and energetic bodies that correspond to prescribed qualities of consciousness. The unrestricted spinning of these energetic wheels in human physiology supposedly increases their influence in clarity of consciousness. The chakras include the traditional Sanskrit symbols, or seed sounds of creation, associated with each of these energetic generators.
